2018  The Diaspora Recent Patriotic Awakening and Its Impact on Socio- Political Arena in DRC  未設定  2018年10月25-27日

概要(Abstract) The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has an important diaspora that can be estimated around 2 million. It was around 2000 and 2001 that Congolese activists called 'combatants' or ‘fighters’ appeared in western capitals. They consider themselves as Congolese resistant patriots of the DRC. They boycott the concerts of the main Congolese musicians’ artists accused of connivance with the regime in power in place in Kinshasa. But the main target of these fighters is Congolese politicians who are working with Joseph Kabila regime since his arrival in power.
That is why this research aims to explore the reasons for this Congolese patriotic awakening in recent years to discover the real crux of the problem and its implication in the socio-political life in the DRC. In addition, this study also wants to determine whether this patriotic resistance has a track record that has contributed to the reconstitution of the DRC. Another objective is to know why the resistants or fighters attack musicians more than the politicians who exercise power in the country. And the last objective is to investigate the position of the government in the face of this patriotic resistance.
This research is based on the second data collected in newspapers, books, reports and the internet. The argument is that the patriotic awakening of the Congolese diaspora has not really succeeded in putting the actual regime to the test for positive change in the country because of their internal divisions that have weakened the resistance and, consequently, have failed to achieve the goals they have set themselves for a decent life in the DRC.
