概要(Abstract) The creation of materials and activities based on an examination and appreciation of Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, in order to encourage students to get develop an awareness of their individual needs and motivations, and how these relate to their participation in society.

概要(Abstract) Researching materials in order to develop an informed understanding of the origins and concept of modern slavery. Reviewing the international legal principles prohibiting slavery, and how these are ignored in current instances of human trafficking with regard to the exploitation of women and children in terms of forced labour and slavery. Additionally, reviewing state sponsored slavery, as well as examining the connection between exploitation and society’s dependence on the production of everyday necessities.

How to teach and promote the philosophy of citizenship to university undergraduates. Researching the development of a methodology that encourages students to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding required of them in order to play a full part in local society–and beyond– as active and responsible citizens. Seeking to develop and present an overview of historical and current social contexts of citizenship in Japan, particularly with regard to issues relating to labour, gender equality, poverty, multiculturalism, nationalism, and immigration. Investigating the creation of materials which encourage Japanese university students not only to personally reflect and act on issues related to local and intercultural citizenship by furthering their own education and participation in specific areas of the citizenship issues referred to above.

概要(Abstract) Reviewing and creating materials relating to SDG concerns which will motivate learners to better understand how they can contribute practically and academically to the fulfilling of these goals by 2030.

Introducing an overview of the key concepts and ideas behind the UNDPs set of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be met by 2030.Developing materials and teaching techniques which will encourage students to focus not only on the environmental and social aspects of sustainability but also to take individual action in furthering their own education and participation in specific areas of personal interest relating to one or more of the SDGs.
